The PSI Process

Pre-Shipment Inspection means an outside agency checks your goods at the packing warehouse. You pick the agency yourself, and the check always happens before the goods are loaded and the container is sealed.

The inspection team counts and weighs the cargo against your invoice, and takes samples for testing. The agency then sends its report to you.

Antaara’s Position

Every shipment goes through our own quality check, and its cost is always in the price. An outside inspection is booked and paid for by you, so please tell us when you order, and we will keep the goods ready for it.

Choose the Right
Agency for You.

SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek and Cotecna all work in India, but every country keeps its own list of the agencies it will accept.

Buyers in different markets ask for different agencies, and your bank may want one of its own. So please check which agency your own buyer, your bank and your customs office will each accept, before you book.

Antaara’s Position

You can choose any inspection agency you trust, including bodies approved by a government, and Antaara will gladly work with them. Please ask your customs agent which agency your port accepts before you book one.

If moisture or broken grain is over your limit, raise it before you release the balance — and always ask for the COA from your own shipment lot. Certificate of Analysis

The Lab Report
on Your Shipment.

A Certificate of Analysis comes from an approved lab that tests a sample from your own lot, so it shows what your goods really are.

For rice the lab checks moisture, broken grain, foreign matter and aflatoxin. For spices and pulses it also checks pesticide residues, microbes and heavy metals, as most import markets set strict limits on all of these.

Read the certificate line by line against the specification we agreed in your order. If any number falls outside it, please raise it with us before you pay the balance, while the goods are still at the packing warehouse.
